Accountants aren’t just numbers crunchers. They are trusted, knowledgeable business partners in a unique position to offer advice.
Often times, business owners seem to be very secretive when it comes to sharing information about their income or finances. Well the business owner is not to be blamed because accountants work with confidential information, predictive numbers and strategic plans. We all know that people can never be trusted but the only way to save your business most times is being transparent with your finances. That way your accountant can have more information and know where to give his critics and advice. If you are not comfortable sharing such confidential informations with your accountant, then it's time to change that accountant.
Withholding information does the business no good. Rather, find an accountant you can trust or better still an accountant you can entrust your finances to and go to bed peacefully knowing they have you covered.
Accountants need to do a better job of asking questions about not only what‘s happening, but also what the business owner is thinking so they can be proactive as well. Accountants can see things from the outside than an insider may not see. Like it or not, everyone's perspective is very valuable.
I mean we aren’t kidding anyone here, it's all about numbers and numbers can offset people or make them panic but you can avoid all that by getting a trusted partner (accountant) and watch your business put itself in the best financial situation.
